Job Description
Position Summary:
The primary function is to mix all dough’s/batters in accordance with company provided formula for such items as; yeast raised dough, cake donuts, muffins, cookies and/or icings. There are multiple tasks that must be performed in this job during a shift, and most of them are required each shift. Job rotation to lessen physical stress is an important part of our Safety program; employees will be assigned various job tasks accordingly.
Job Tasks:
Meet daily production needs as listed in daily projection and actual downloaded orders.
- Assure that all products are mixed according to established Bakery Express mixing/formulation/baking and handling procedures and produce mixes in a timely manner to keep up with established production through put.
- Complete all necessary checks and documentation in a timely and truthful manner, providing accurate and timely feedback as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe and sanitary work area during operations, and perform proper area clean up duties at the close of production.
- Yeast mixer and Cookie mixer machine must be turned off and tagged out at the power source, before any operator reaches into the mixing bowl and around the mixing blade or bar, during mixing bowl cleaning and scraping.
- Provide assistance with any other tasks in the bakery as may be required and requested by supervision.
- Participate in the production/development of experimental products when asked, and provide feedback when requested.
- Maintain proper calibration and maintenance/operation of all company issued testing equipment.
- Provide Maintenance personnel with any pertinent observations relative to equipment function and operation.
Qualifications: Good math and reading skills, and able to read English. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions, but also show ability to work autonomously when fully trained. Must be able to function as a team member. Must be able to complete more than one task at a time.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. WALKING / STANDING 100%, STOOP/BENDING 30%, LIFTING 20%, GOOD HAND DEXTERITY 10%. NOTE: NEVER ATTEMPT TO PULL MORE THAN 30 POUNDS OF SCRAP AT A TIME, OUT OF THE SCRAP DOUGH TROUGH.
Environmental Conditions: Inside air conditioned building with normal temperature between 70 and 90 degrees. Minor smoke/smell from ovens and fryer. Occasionally required to enter walk-in cooler or freezer for a short period of time with normal temperature between 10 to 40 degrees. May come in contact and/or work with Nuts, Flour, Cinnamon, Eggs and Dairy.
